I'm back.... ish

I'm back, after taking an extremely long break. Well, I'm back, but I'm not really back. Lemme explain a bunch of stuff in the blog.

Lately, I'll be frank, I've been too lazy to write blogs. I have a lot of stuff I want to do, and finding the inspiration for writing stuff just doesn't come to me right, so I doubt I could write well even if I tried. And again, as I mentioned, there are people who would be able to do card analysis much better than I do. That being said, I do want to help people that need help with cheap decks, just not by making a blog for every deck possible (I mean, I want to, but just don't get the inspiration to)... Which is why I thought for a little bit, and came to the conclusion of helping people personally.

To explain, I'll help people that specifically ask for it. I've just turned on the setting for Anonymous users to be able to comment, so you would be able to comment anytime. Basically, whenever I can, I'll skim through the comments below and help people personally whenever I have the time available. All you have to do is comment down the deck you want to use, and your total budget available to you, and I'll try to give a decklist and tell you the pros and cons, which you can use to improve.

I will still write blogs whenever I get around to it, and I will try to update all the past blogs I have leftover, but I doubt I'll be able to do that anytime soon, so this is a temporary solution for that problem.

... And that's preety much all I had to say. Those who wants help can comment and I'll try to help you, and I'll write blogs once in a blue moon. Better than not writing at all, don't you think?

  1. Have you seen the new tachikaze stuff? What do you think a deck post technical booster would look like with their new cards?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Yes I have, and they're amazing. Tachis just got a major major boost. I'm not sure about the price they'll be in, but they'll probably go down over time.

With what we have so far, it would be something like...

    G0:
    1 Camara
    16 Triggers

    G1:
    4 PG of choice
    4 Freezernic
    3 Beamptera
    3 Prism Bird

    G2:
    3 Skyptera
    4 Apato
    4 Sarco/Jigsaw

    G3:
    4 Tyrannobrute
    4 Gaiaemperor

    G4:
    4 Dogma
    1 Twin Tempest
    1-2 Archraider
    1-2 Gewalt

    Or something along those lines.
We don't even have the full support out yet, nor did they come out in English, but I plan to make a blog for them the moment they do.

  3. Hey tachikaze, I've been thinking about a budget beast deity deck, featuring azure dragon and his cross ride but I don't know where to start. Can you help me out?

    1. Azure and Illuminal aren't exactly the best way to build a Beast Deity deck, I would rather go with Extreme.

And unfortunately, I'm not very knowledgable with Beast Deities, so I can't help much.

  4. Tachi, what are some options for budget eradicators. I've been thinking of vowing saber reverse, but I have no idea how any of the new Eradicator support works.

  5. Hey Tachi, I'm interested in granblue but true we don't know what's entirely coming out yet (both in g trial and the booster set). Though just wondering what cards to get while they're cheap before hype spikes the prices up. Like sea strolling banshee and other cards?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. ... Eh, the old GB support is preety meh, so there's not that much that you should pick up. Sea Strolling Banshee should be picked up right now though, since it's price will forever increase. Other from that, nothing really worth mentioning, especially since Samurai Spirit got majorly outclassed.

As long as you pick up a set of SSB, you should be fine.

    2. Thanks! Got them now. Since wanted to build palemoon for a while but the purple trapezists spiked up and regret not being able to afford them at the time :/ So wanting to try out gb and also preferring it's playstyle too. Would be appreciated if able to get a build on it after the set/trial comes out! ^^

    3. SSB would probably turn into the Trapezist of GB :P

I'll try, can't gurantee it. I probably will tho :3

  6. hi there im fairly new to vanguard but i love it and am eager to grow as a player. i have seen a few clans which seem interesting aquaforce, dark irregulars, link joker, murakumo and nubatama. i enjoy annoying opponents but dont know which ones would suit me best if any of the above at all. i dont have a huge budget at all really so i dont know how much help you can offer. any help greatly received.

    1. If you enjoy trolling your opponents, the best choice is a LJ deck. The bad thing about LJ is that virtually all it's builds are expensive. The cheapest thing (that's close to competetive) you have right now is an Amnesty-less Messiahs, which aren't really competetive. I'd recommend Imaginary Plane triple lockdown deck the most. It's a great deck and is probably the most competetive "budget LJ" deck we have at the moment.

      Hope this helped.

  7. So what do you think about the new gear chronicle stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  8. There are a few extremely good cards, such as Chrono Dran + Metalica Phoenix and Time Leap Dragon (or whatever the on-attack time leap Grade 2 card was), other than that and Time leap fodders, there's nothing much to say, but the new support gave GC some extremely good stuff.

What good budget options are there for Nova Grappler? I know about Blaus, but they seem too vanguard focused. I'm more of a rearguard rush person

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Personally, I would go with Blaus. Blaus can also rush using Mars.

If you find yourself really not liking Blaus, a Beast Deity deck, especially with the new Stride is now extremely good too. Haven't checked the prices recently so I dunno if they would be considered budget though.

Otherwise, a Victorless G-deck is better than you'd expect it to be depending on how you build it.

I'll try my luck with Beast Deities and Victorless G-Deck. For the G-Deck, what grade 3's do you recommend?

      Delete
    3. For Beast Deities, 4 of Ethics Buster Extreme is a must (but again, it has been a long time since I checked the prices...), then other than that, a decent backup is all you need. I would go for Ethics Reverse, but it doesn't matter much.

For the G-zone, 4 of the BD stride, 2-3 of Vic-ten, 1-2 of Vic... That FC one. If you have Victoplasma, add it in.

For the Victorless G-deck, I really didn't use it much so I can't say much.

    1. Hm, OTT eh?

First of all the almighty Magus is defenitely a solid option. It's cheap (well, not as cheap as it can get but in exchange is effective) and competetive, so I would go with this.

If you don't wanna Magus/can't because wallet is that broke, Ohirume is another option.

Yet another option is Battle Sisters, but I won't be able to help much on this one.

      Delete
    2. Magus OTT? Any suggestions on a decklist? Im kinda flying blind here.

    7. I happen to have a decklist.

      1x Little Witch, Lulu
      12x Crit
      4x Heal

      4x Perfect Guard
      4x 8k Vanilla
      3x Battle Soster, Cocoa
      2x Miss Mist(Tech Choice)

      4x Battle Deity, Susanoo(Amaterasu 12k)
      3x 10k Vanilla
      2x Maiden of Libra
      2x Stellar Magus(Tech Choice)

      4x Amaterasu
      4x Ohirume

      2x Soaring Auspicios Beast, Kirin
      2x Atmos
      4x Madew

      I hope it helps!

      Delete
    8. Hey what is the price point of this by any chance?

      Delete
    9. Looking at the list, I estimate roughly $20 or so.

The deck itself is decent, but I don''t understand the 8k vanila's purpose. Miss mist is meh in the Stride era, and Libra is flat out bad.

I would tech in 1-2, if possible 3 Susanooes and add in Stride Enablers instead of the vanila and make other minor changes. Note that whether you have Susanoo or not, you would want to replace 8k vanilas with Stride enablers.

Cost with Susanoo in: at minimum, $35 or so.

      Delete
    10. Yeah, never thought of Susanoo as a tech choice. Those changes are solid, although I would hold back on stride enablers. I find that I go though games where I don't need stride. If a different grade 1 is needed I would use the Kay clone for amaterasu.

      Delete
    11. Holy crap. Stellar magus is 10 dollars a pop 0_0

      Delete
    12. Yeah, didn't realize the price while I was typing it in. It's a tech choice, so anything you want can fit in that slot. I use Obligate Robin most of the time if I'm not using Stellar Magus.

      Delete
    13. >A Magus card other than the Stride is $5+

      Welp.

      Life.

Susanoo tech works preety well imo, so yeah, especially if you run Stride enabler which acts as a searcher too. (The main reason to tech in Susanoo).

Hey, the enablers are better than 8k vanilas.

      Delete
    14. True. If running the Stride Enabler then I suggest running 4 Kirin 4 Madew for the G-Zone. If you have Takemitazuchi then replace for 2 Madew.

      Delete
    15. Nimbus is also a decent tech, so there's that.

      Delete
    16. I'd tech in 1-2 nimbus to shuffle back copies of ohirume and amaterasu to pull off ohirume's draw skill more often.

    1. The rush deck I have somewhere works preety decently.

Ripples are preety budget too, but you'll be called scrub :P
Serious note though, Ripples are good.

      Delete
    2. Ripples aren't really worth building now that Odysseus is down to two. And even so, Genovivus is $8 and Pavroth is $1 a pop. With just those two cards the deck is now up to $36. That only leaves wiggle room for $14 worth of cards. The only plus-side I find with Ripples budgetwise is that they do not need to stride. A ripple rush deck that relies on the Grade 2 Game could work and could be very budget, as it only runs 0-2 Genovivus. A Ripple Rush deck like this would only cost about $20-30

On the other hand, if you want a budget option for Aqua Force I say that two G-Trial Decks and a few singles will be more than enough. A friend of mine runs a G-Aqua Force deck that uses two trial decks and he consistently beats me and others who run fully built competitive decks. Buying two G-Trial Decks also leaves leeway for other singles, about $20-24. I recommend buying Jockey of the Great Sea Skyros or Strikehead Dragon as a backup G3 if you are going to build G-Aqua Force. And hey, with $24 you can get a few Tidal Assaults if you are into that.

To be honest, the choice is all up to you. Aqua Force is such a unique clan and there are so many options and routes. Just make sure the Grade 2 lineup is solid. You want that Grade 2 lineup to be competitive level if you can for a budget deck. If you need decklists for any of these then just say.

    4. I was honestly going to pretty much buy the deck that Tachi had posted and then edit it as I see how it works.

If I were to go with the two g trial deck route, what would you recommend to purchase to up it's viability? As you stated, it looks like grade 2s are more the stars than grade 3s and 4s.

      Delete
    5. As I said earlier, Tidal Assault is an obvious choice, albeit expensive. Get as much as you comfortably can, but don't burn your whole wallet on it. Another choice is Blue Storm Marine General, Ianis for the hand size. The two final Grade 2's I can think of are Battle Siren, Adelaine and Couple Dagger Sailor. There are obviously more choices out there, but those are the ones I can think of at the moment.

      Delete
    6. >Ripples are not worth t anymore

      lolno.

Oddy was something Ripples didn't need to become good, it just made them broke. Oddy at 2 doesn't impace Ripple game greatly at all. Also, my brain had in mind a non-gradestall Ripple game.

G-trial deck x2 really isn't a good idea considering that the AqF TD is one of the less impressive TDs next to GC.

@Tidal Very good card, much $$$. You can work withought it so ye. (Still nice to have).

      Delete
    7. Concerning ripples, after playing a good amount of games I've changed my mind about them. They are quite fun and a good choice, although I use a gradestall strategy. By stalling and rushing on G2 with Pavroth you can wittle down their hand for the finish with Genovivus.

Concerning G-Trial Decks and their potency, I don't think anything stands near GC's. I myself run Gear Chronicles and I hold my ground against the top decks. If one is willing to spend money on tweaks like a stronger g2 lineup, stride fodders, and maybe a budget stride like aristotole, I think the 2xGTrialDeck for Aqua Force is good. But, its all opinion so I can't say anymore on that.

And tidal... At least it is slowly dropping. It's about $4-6 now so its better than it used to be at least. I could/would fit in 2-3 copies in a budget aqf deck if I could, or at minimum 1.

      Delete
    8. @GC TD GC deck itself is good, but G-TD01 is considered to be the worst G-TD available due to Mystery-flare.

The 2x AqF TD is decent, can't call it good, fun aside. Thavas being very little flexible hurts.

I really need to catch up on prices.

If it's $5 only, it's worth the price.

      Delete
    9. Was talking about the new GTrialDeck with Time Leap. It's amazing.

The GTrialDeck is more for the perfect guards, magnum assaults, and maybe alekbors. Magnum assault is about $6 so it is more worth it just to buy a trial deck. If you are really against playing Thavas, then run Strikehead, Max, or Jockey of the Great Sea.

      Delete
    10. Oh, the Time Leap TD is a different story alltogether. Thag one's amazing.

      Fair enough.

      Delete
    11. True that, true that. Two Time Leap TDs and some cheap commons and rares let me compete on an even level with some of the top decks and players at my locals. Much amazing TD. Much strong. Could give a decklist if wanted.

      Delete
    12. Yeah I currently play gears and have basically took two trial decks of the time leap gears and made something decent.

Regarding aqua force. Im not sure on what I want to run for G2s. I am getting a set of Tidal Assaults, because Tidal looks retardedly good. But other than that I am a bit at a loss.

      Delete
    13. I'll list some cards you could consider.
      G3:
      Skyros(bit pricy)
      Strikehead
      Thavas
      Max

      G2:
      Couple Dagger Sailor
      Tidal Assault($$$$)
      Battle Siren Adelaine
      Magnum
      High Tide
Turtle(if you want an RNG factor or something)
      Ianis

      G1:
      Battle Siren Stacia
      Battle Siren Orthia
      Kelpie Rider Nikki
      Whirlwind Brave Shooter
      Every G1 with Resist

As you know, the G2s are the stars and take the most consideration. The G1s and 3s are all up to preference, but experiment with g2s.

What card do you think would be a good replacement for Draconic Blademaster?
Could you please do a Megacolony deck based of Vanguard Paralyze?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Okay. I know I'm not Tachi, but whatever.

Don't know what you mean by a good "replacement" for Dragonic Blademaster. I'm going to assume you mean a budget version since it's price has shot up recently. There are two good bosses for G-Kagero in my opinion and they are Dragonic Overlord the Legend and Heroic Saga Dragon. There's also budget perdition feat. Pain Laser and Dragonewt if you're into that.

About a Vanguard Paralyze Megacolony deck. I could write about it once I'm finished with my current project or there's a crazy price drop in Machining support. Tachi could write if he has the time, but Spring Break's over and he's back in school.

  19. So I found a fairly fun budget deck for the Narukami. Its fun and can catch more inexperienced players off guard.

    Grade 3 (7):
    Detonix Stinger Dragon 4x
    Eradicator, Twin Thunder Dragon 3x
    Grade 2 (13):
    Fiendish Sword, Cho-jun 4x
    Eradicator, Thunder Boom Dragon 4x
    Eradicator, Spark Rain Dragon 2x
    Heat Elemental Bwah 3x
    Grade 1 (12):
    Perfect Guards 4x
    Ceremonial Bonfire Eradicator, Castor 4x
    Assault Eradicator, Saikei 4x
    Grade 0 (2):
    Eradicator Spirit Beads, Nata 2x
    Triggers:
    Ionization Eradicator, Capnis 4x
Either Combination based on preference (4 draw and 4 critical or 6 draw and 2 critical of Eradicators)
    Worm Toxin Eradicator, Seiobo 4x

I would love to claim all credit, but it isn't. A very kind person on reddit posted this list.

I should point out that Light elemental Sunny is a replacement for perfect guards that brings the deck to about... 30 to 35 dollars. Is it highly competitive? Probably not, but its fun as hell to do Twin thunder dragon atop Detronix Stinger Dragon.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. About Sunny, yeah. I have a playset that I use whenever I have a deck that has expensive as hell perfect guards.

Detonix Twin Thunder is a pretty fun deck, but I wouldn't spend funds on it(currently saving every penny to get a Nextage. Yes, I do write on a budget blog). Definitely something I was interested in building when it first came out, but you might want to add some Limit Break enablers. Also, take out any cards that use counterblast other than the Grade 3's. The counterblast needs to be saved for the kill turn. Also, Saikei is somewhat useless in Twin Thunder since it gets retired when Twin Thunder uses its skill. The rest of the deck seems great. Perfect deck for casual play.

      Delete
    2. ACTUALLY! I read a ruling somewhere that said if Saikei was going to be retired via twin thunder dragon, his effect does go off. With saikei on the board, it really isn't that hard to keep some counterblast free for your kill turn. LB enablers are kinda redundant in my opinion, since you need a fairly large sum of counter blast anyway that you are probably going to be at limit break just to pay for the cost.

      Delete
    3. Saikei leaves the board before his AUTO receives its trigger, so it doesn't activate. Regardless, it doesn't work with any other retire card in the deck. Cho-Jin retires during battle phase and Detonix Stinger retires on-ride, whereas Saikei's skill only triggers during the main phase. As good as Saikei is, it's a 7k vanilla in this build.

Even if you think LB enablers are redundant, there are plenty of other, better options for Grade 1's in lieu of Saikei. Demolition Dragon, Ouei, and Rising Phoenix are just a few options.
