Deck Spotlight: Seal Dragon Overlords

So
I felt like rebuilding my Re-Birth deck, since Breakride DO went down in price. Came up with this list.

Grade 0:
1x Prison Egg Seal Dragon Knight(Sadegh is an option, as well)
6x Critical Triggers
6x Draw Triggers(4x Seal Dragon Artipitch)
4x Heal Triggers

Grade 1:
4x Seal Dragon Rinocross
4x Seal Dragon Sprite, Mulciber
3x General Conroe
2x Calamity Tower Wyvern

Grade 2:
4x Emperor Dragon Knight, Nehalem
4x Prowling Dragon Striken
4x Seal Dragon Barathea

Grade 3:
4x Dragonic Overlord, the Re-Birth
4x Dragonic Overlord (Breakride)

Grade 4:
2x Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Overlord "the Ace"
2x Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Vortex Desire
2x Transcendence Divine Dragon, Nouvelle Vague L'Express
2x Flame Emperor Dragon King, Irresist Dragon
2x Flame Wing Steel Beast, Denial Griffin
2x Flame Emperor Dragon King, Asyl Orb Dragon

Pretty cool, eh? Well, there's alot of tech choices so time to explain them.

First off, Seal Dragon engine. Barathea is honestly a champion. He was just perfect. He either takes cards out of your opponents hand, making it harder to guard Re-Birth, or gives you a draw to help fill your board for Re-Birth. Its absolutely perfect. I had to include it, no matter what.

The issue is that icky Especial Soublast cost.

I was trying to find a way around it, but then I realized Mulciber, which is already a mandatory run in Re-Birth decks, is a Seal Dragon. Then I thought up the idea of running Rinocross as my PG so I could ride it for soul. Then I remembered that Terrycross, Artipitch, and Egg Knight can enter soul through their own skills. And that Baraxya, itself, was a Seal Dragon.

Immediately started deckbuilding.

So yeah. Various cards can build up Seal Dragon specific soul and Baraxya can help your win condition of Re-Birth. Seal Dragon engine in a nutshell.

Speaking of Re-Birth, I'm focusing on both of the ways to use him: with Striken and with Dragonic Overlord Breakride.

Striken is, obviously, the optimal path but requires 3 different cards in hand: Striken, Mulciber(unless
you get critsacked early), and Re-Birth, so it isn't exactly consistent. It is great to keep the option, though, so ye. Breakride, however, only requires you to have DOBR in hand and you can later draw into Re-Birth. You also get the bonus of having Crossride numbers to make guarding easier(you just chucked out your entire hand to use Rebirth, so) and it has pretty nice synergy with Artipitch, who gets your Rebirth to 26k/36k Magic Numbers, making it that much harder to guard all his restands. So ye. It is an option to take out Striken for something else and relying on only Breakride+Rebirth, but i like having the option. I'd recommend Burnout if you decide not to use Striken.

If you're poor, you can just play Dragonic Overlord OG or a mix of Breakride and OG.

Typical budget Kagero G-Zone. Not much explanation needed. Crossorigin's there for Seal Dragon memes and for Crit Pressure. Works with Baraxya nicely, too. Root Flare and/or Taiten is really nice to have if you can afford to get some.

Effectiveness: 7.5/10

Price: $70-75

Competitive: Maybe

Final Words: While this ain't meta or anything, I think it is a fine rogue pick. It doesn't have problems with Chaos Breaker, since you're gonna be locking your own units anyways, and can deal with Time Leap much easier than the average deck with Crossride numbers(as well as earlier rush). Also, being a LB deck, it can play completely fine against Seven Seas Rush(and can play faster, too, since you'll be hitting LB earlier).

Merry Christmas and Happy Cardfighting!

  2. Just thought I'd point out that your units still unlock in the end phase and, therefore, CBD gets to use his LB4 without having to do any work (same with messiahs but CBD retires them).
