Standard Budget Deck: Murakumo (Weasel Gang)

Assemble!
Occasionally, Bushiroad will gift us with a package that is absolute gold for budget play. This time around, we got the WEASEL GANG.

Aside from being the absolute goodest bois, they have legitimate use. Weasel Red creating an easy-bake board with 30k+ units is neat, especially on turn two. Even if it's at the cost of what's usually going to be your entire hand, this rushdown is well worth it.

Luckily, Murakumo has a decently large cardpool in Standard, and we have access to multiple boss units that we can try out. Since the goodboi engine and triggers take up over half your deck, Weasels are super easy to build, and they're one of the most beginner-friendly decks I've seen in a while.

Budget Deck: Murakumo (Magatsu Shadowstich)

Image result for cfv magatsuAt the beginning of stride era, before The Genius Strategy, Yasuie lists would actually use the Magastu ride chain quite often. Providing the deck with an early game has always been something we strive for in vanguard. After The Genius Strategy, essentially every list dropped Magastu in favor of the Shadowstich support. And since then, Magastu has been practically nonexistent as a deck. Instead, I worked out a build that didn't use the Magastu legion, but used Shadowstich support. And it works.

Budget Deck: Murakumo (Magastu)

Jeez the market is so incredibly inflated right now. Made it difficult for me to find something cheap I want to write about.

I googled 'ninja" and this was the first result...
Murakumo has always been one of the cheaper clans in the game. Pair that with a subclan that has gotten very little support over the years, and we have an incredibly cheap deck, Magastu. Now, Magastu is, in my opinion, severely underrated. They have a possible strong early game, calling units from the deck on-ride. They have a Legion to give an entire formation a boost, and enables boost on them. They have access to the Murakumo G-Zone, which is… pretty good.

Budget Deck: Murakumo (Shirayuki)

Ghost waifu
First time playing around without the old format. Here we go.

Now, Shirayuki is a very popular unit that's recently been reprinted in the Revival Collection, and she's a pretty fun one. Her skill gives herself +20,000 defense at the cost of a Personablast. It's considerably cheap and facilitates guarding Glory/Tom skills and other guard restricting skills like PB "Diablo" and Mayhem Tiger, since the skill isn't considered guarding. But... it's a defensive skill in a pretty aggressive clan so it puts her in a bit of an odd spot. She can handle being a very defensive card, but she herself applies no aggressive pressure. Fortunately, your rearguards and strides can handle being offensive for you.

Budget Deck: Murakumo (Yasuie)

Nin! But he looks more like samurai...
What do you say for samurai? Oh whatever
Murakumo... is a clan I did not think would be much good, but some playtesting has totally changed my mind. It's incredibly fun and a lot more effective than I initially thought. Creating a huge mob of both frontrow and backrow attackers with Kagamijishi is incredibly fun and devastating to the opponent.

Everything in Murakumo is dirt cheap, since everyone has looked away from them. They are really underestimated in my opinion and have plenty of potential, and could actually become a force to be reckoned with once the new Technical Booster comes out.

I wanted to wait until the new Technical Booster came out before writing a blog... but I got impatient and started writing anyways. So here it is! The long, awaited Murakumo blog!
