Budget Deck: Shadow Paladin (Claret)

WARNING: This deck sucks flat out and shouldn't exist, and this blog is here just for fun. You have been warned.

How does his head even
look like? Is that
Raging Form Dragon?
So, today, I'll be discussing about one of the new cards we got from the latest set. The name is--- Claret Sword Dragon! This is officially our Strider for Shadow Paladin. At first look, it seems preety typical, but people, I see a lot of potential with this guy.

What? No not the GB2. I mean that second skill that lets you call a Grade 1 for a CB. It is a straight up +1, but it's quality +1. That power boost of 2k gets really good. It doesn't seem like much - but it is.

Unfortunately Claret is a RRR, and a $10 card. Well... You can try to get one, then run 4 of his searcher and get away with it. Although there's no gurantee that it'll work well though.

Grade 3

Claret's Kouhai
So, aside from one Claret, you need a bunch of other cards to make up for it. Mainly there are 2 very good options. Caar 2.0 and Totwachter. Caar 2.0 has an amazing tutoring skill, and Totwatcher is your main ride target aside from Claret, since it's literally a watered down version of him.

Aside from those two? Come on those two are already easy to find what else do you want? Okay fine... Aside from those two, you can run Deathmaster Dragon, Desperate Dragon, Shadow Blaze Dragon, The Dark Dictator, so on and so forth.

Grade 1

What the hell is a  Bolfri?
So, before anything else, I'll need to discuss the key points of this deck: Claret's fodders to call. Firstly, I need to reveal the identity of this deck that I was hiding. It is~ A pure power beatdown deck! Why? What's the problem? Pure power beatdown decks are actually really good when it comes down to it. I mean, seriously. With a few options and stuff, a deck made around it can easilly hit 3/4/3. Consistently. Claret's skill makes the majority of units into 9k boosters. Which means that boosting a 12k attacker? It hits 3 stages (Unless Crossride), and that's not meant to be underestimated.

Anyway, going back to the topic, the Grade 1 lineup that's made to hit large numbers, should be consisted of, firstly, ... PGs. So far, the cheapest PG that we have is the Common rarity Little Skull Witch, Nemain. The original PG is $5, and the second evolution of that is $11. The laest PG is $10, while Nemain 2.0 is $1. Good deal, right?

Either way, the Grade 1s... Firstly, as I said, 4 Branwen as Claret searcher. After that we finally go into the high numbered units. Firstly, we have Blitz Knight, Bolfri that becomes a 12k attacker if searched by Claret. Then another option is Gururubau, who looks cool and becomes an 11k attacker, and can be used for early game rush. Then, when we discuss powered units, we can't leave out Night Sky Eagle, like ever. This is great, becomes a free 11k anytime, everytime (As long as GB1 is active) as an attacker, or a booster.

Grade 2

Royal Guard of Elder Tale?
And now, to the dessert. So, this lineup should be full of 12k attackers... But... We have a problem. All of our 12k attackers have... A problem. The best among all of them is Balberith, which is a Promo, the next best is Triple Dark Armor, which is a 8k unit (Although that cost is efficient. Opens room for Claret next turn) and a promo. The last viable unit is Demon World Castle, ZweiSpeer, which is the easiest to obtain, but it again, has 8k.

Also, Nemain 1.0 as a tech-in? Go for it.

Grade 0

Goat with Bazzoka.
Legit as hell.
So, the starter... Well isn't this a problem? We have 3 options, which is consisted of David, Wing Edge Panther, and Creeping Dark Goat. David becomes a 5k vanila booster most of the time (Aside from vanila booster? Claret fodder) and Creeping Dark Goat has a 40% fail rate. So the best option here is? Wing Edge Panther, I guess. I mean, that 3k might come in handy in this deck, and we have not much of a choice.

Triggers? Let's see... I dunno if Draws will work well at all in this deck, so just run 12 crit, or 8 crit 4 stand. Experiment a little bit and bam! You get what you want.

Grade 4

So, basically all we want is cheap units for beatdown support purposes, right? Then Cray Elementals might work, if you have any. Then, Efnysien is our next choice. I mean, it helps the purpose of beatdown and opens up space for Claret's call. Aside from that? Grim Recruiter is the only choice.

Oh hey, PBDiablo is now $3. Run as many as possible.

Note: I highly support building your own decks and doing your own testings. Please do not straight out use this deck, but use it as a base to start and spread out and make your own Version.

Grade 3:
Grade 4:

Effectiveness: 3/10

Price: $30-40

Competetive: No

Final Words: So, firstly I'd like to say that this deck wasn't meant for competetive play and will probably do horrible in any games, and should be used purely for fun. Please don't enter a tournament and lose and come back screaming at me thank you very much. I'll post an alternative SP Budget deck soon enough (Easy peasy, as long as I can find time) so go use that. I really wouldn't recommend this in any type of play, at all. Well, you could change around the Grade 1s and 2s a bit and this could be a lot better, but personally I don't have any time nor wish to fix up a lost cause. I'm really sorry.
