Budget Deck: Granblue (Nightrose)

....... The market underwent some... heavy changes while I was playing WIXOSS apparently.

Originally, I was planning to write about Vanquisher, but then he went up to about $9.50. Then for some godforsaken reason Grandgallop went up to... $26. After that, I went looking for a couple stuff I could actually write about, and I ended up in Chatnoir and Nightrose, and since I have next to no experience with the former, I decided to go with Nightrose. I actually tried Nightrose afterall. And luckily, most of Nightrose's pieces are located in G-TD08, which is also said to be one of the better G-TDs around, which makes stuff a lot better.

Budget Deck: Megacolony (Darkface)

Okay, let's try this again.

After being left in the darkness for the longest time, Bushiroad finally decided to give Megacolony support, and surprisingly, it's good, cheap, and fun to play with, trolling your opponent all day. MC is a great budget deck, being probably one of the cheapest competetive builds. Plus, it's ridiculously fun to play with. I can't say this enough: It's fun to play with.

Budget Deck: Tachikaze (Ancient Dragons)

About time I made this blog.

Ancient Dragons are the "bomb". They can rush, they can crit, if they felt like it they could (But shouldn't) tank.

But the main big deal here is the rush.

Rush, is one of the best tricks in Vanguard right now. The G-era promotes rushing very much, and the strategy works very, very very well. Nowadays the game doesn't become hyper until people Stride. By rushing instead, they can hyper play earlier, resulting in a ton of damage going straight into your opponent's face while they get to do... well, nothing.

Anyway, the point here is that ADs have one of the best rushes in the entire game, and they're budget, so they're defenitely a very good budget deck.

Budget Deck: Gear Chronicle (Pegasus)

Gear Chronicle, is a wild horse clan in CFV right now, that is supported like a monster (Since well, it is Chrono's clan). There are mainly 2 ways to go with this clan: Either Guard Restriction or Field Control. Guard Restriction is the Aggressive one, obviously. This one is self explinatory. On the other hand Field Control is... Basically Kagero, only a lot more interesting. GC can't destroy as much as Kagero, but it has countless options that you can use from Epoch + Glimmerbreath, Chronoscommand pressure, Lost Age mass Rewind, Chronojet spam, and Legion. You can do everything for very budget options.

Guard Restriction or Field Control?

Budget Deck: Royal Paladins (Sanctuary Guard)

Oh my God I have been so looking forward to writing this.

Sanctuary Guard, an Archtype that has been out for a very long time now (Withought any direct support) suddenly got an amazing new support in FC 2015. Holy Dragon, Sanctuary Guard Regalie is a fantastic card. No, like seriously. It's one of the best Strides in the game so far. A deck focused on this guy can be scary, and due to the reason that most of their cards aren't foils (RR or higher) this build is fairly budget.

The only problem? Sanctuary Guard Dragon is $20 and the most consistent way to call Grade 1s to the field right now is Swordmy who has a fairly expensive price right now and sucks at being available.

Because of that I have, during the past few months, been looking for another consistent way to search out Grade 1s and, apparantly, RP has more than one ways of doing that. It was preety easy building a deck withought Swordmy.

The only problem left was how to bypass the original Sanctuary Guard Dragon... And I tried out a Sanctuary Guard deck with only Guarantee, and while the 10k base does hurt, I don't care. It worked a lot better than I expected. While Dragon does work better, this is equally as good. This deck, my friends, is the incarnation of pure rushing. Welcome to Sanctuary Regalie.

Budget Deck: Gold Paladin (Gurguit)

Solar Knight!
There's only one thing to say about Gurguit decks.

Defense, Defense, and Defense.

No, seriously. Gurguit decks have a massive superial calling network the moment they Stride. The moment you Stride, your massive calling power
shenanigans starts.

Problem? Striding is too slow, and against rush decks, you'll be able to make one move before you die, since the deck is mostly vanila until mid-game or so.

There isn't a real way to solve the problem, so can't be helped. Deal with it.

Budget Deck: Royal Paladins (Ezzel)

The damn original boss of
RP is now revived!
Are you an old school player who decided to pick up the game again? Do you have copies of the original Alfred and you wanna revive your old RP deck? Well then. This is the deck for you! The first ever Legion Revival we (ever) got, King of Knights' Vanguard,Ezzell is a Legion Revival for, guess what! Alfred! I honestly thought that this wouldn't be a thing... I never imagined that Alfred would ever come back... (The original at least) and look at what we have here! Wow. Bushitroll does some decent stuff once in a while.

Originally, my Ezzel deck consisted of Seeker hybrids. Until... G Comic Booster 1: Vanguard & Deletor decided to come out, and gave us a bunch of new stuff that I can work with. Honestly I was a bit annoyed because... well, I posted this like a week before that got officially confirmed.

Then I was saved by how crappy this set was.

There's next to nothing useful in this set. All they did was release a bunch of really horrible cards for people who wanted to use the Alfred deck again. The only cards that were actually worth a little were: Holy Squire Dragon (Possibly), Galehalt, and Eluron (ESPECIALLY Eluron). Then again, this set was a blessing in disguise. It reprinted Madew, Iseult, Ezzel and Alfred original for us as Rs, making their price drop very significantly.

Budget Deck: Link Joker (Messiahs)

I've seen so many people playing Messiahs wrong. Actually it's not that. It's that Bushi designed Messiahs wrong. Link Joker was supposed to be defensive, but this is being offensive. This is clear seeing cards like Amnesty Messiah that was meant to be a "finisher", in the cost of all of your defense. This guy... Isn't worthy of being a $40 card. If it wasn't for the rarity, he'd be at most, $5. After a bit of time at least.

So, going back into the topic, this offensive mechanic in a defensive clan isn't such a good idea. So how do you use it? Use it defensively. This is actually extremely easy because Messiahs can lock like there's no tommorow. Like, really. Making 3 turns of Triple lock? Easy peasy.

So the basic premise of this deck is that you'll buy 2 of G Trial Deck 5: Fateful Star Messiah, and "evolve" your deck from there. With keeping in mind that you're trying to make a defensive deck. It's actually easy because the TD gives you most of the and key cards, like Alter Ego Messiah, Duskblade, and Lightspeed Cheetah.

Budget Deck: Aqua Force

Aqua Force is a clan that I'm not too familiar with. I've almost never fought against the clan, nor have I ever used it. And when I tried to build an Aqua Force deck back in the day, it didn't go too well. So, when I decided to write this article, I was really... Stressed? I wasn't sure how well it would go. I build a deck in CFA and tried playtesting a bit and... Bam! I couldn't believe my eyes. I built a deck that actually works well and crushes most of my matchups.

So, before anything else, I need to talk about a few things regarding this "deck". It was originally designed to be a Blue Storm rushdown killing deck, but when I saw the price of all 3 Maelstroms in existance... (all $10+) I modified the deck little by little, and came up with another rushdown deck... That actually worked great most of the time. It abuses the fact that you go first and punishes your opponent early game. And it's really easy to do this. Having multiple attackers that restand, and a couple 3rd battle or more pressure units, it works really well.

Budget Deck: Shadow Paladin (Claret)

WARNING: This deck sucks flat out and shouldn't exist, and this blog is here just for fun. You have been warned.

How does his head even
look like? Is that
Raging Form Dragon?
So, today, I'll be discussing about one of the new cards we got from the latest set. The name is--- Claret Sword Dragon! This is officially our Strider for Shadow Paladin. At first look, it seems preety typical, but people, I see a lot of potential with this guy.

What? No not the GB2. I mean that second skill that lets you call a Grade 1 for a CB. It is a straight up +1, but it's quality +1. That power boost of 2k gets really good. It doesn't seem like much - but it is.

Unfortunately Claret is a RRR, and a $10 card. Well... You can try to get one, then run 4 of his searcher and get away with it. Although there's no gurantee that it'll work well though.

Budget Deck: Nova Grapplers (Blaus)

Badass Robos
Blaus are a group of badass blue robots with awesome skills. They absolutely lack support and you can't make a deck full of Blaus, so you need to tech in a few cards. But despite lacking support, they work quite nicely, and can work on budget.

Blaus originated from this Ride Chain that was released on BT04 (Maan a long time ago), but thanks to a bunch of Rambling and begging for more support for Stern, Bushi for once, decided to give them a whole Archtype. And the testing results were... Dramatically good. Stern got a crossride, Blaus got an amazing Break Ride, and probably the best hand engine in the entire game.

Now, playing budget Blaus is a bit harder than normal, since both Galaxy and Mond are at $13 or so, but there are a lot of decent options out there.

Budget Deck: Dark Irregulars (Rigil)

Now, as I've covered in the G-BT03 Review, Dark Irregulars got some awesome, Awesome support. Now, they got hand replenishment, massive Soulcharging, and amazing effects and powering up like Jewel Knights.

#DemonLordforever
... That being said the best build around is still Amons... So I've been trying to struggle and find the second best deck in DI; and I believe I have found my current favorite deck. Psychic of Storm, Rigil, is an amazing card. First his second skill. He can persona- Soulblast for a SC of 5. Now aside from Doreens going off (Which they aren't) it's overall a Soulcharge 4. A Soulcharge 4. Do you have any idea how good this is? Not only does this get you closer to the wanted 15 soul, it activates other units in the deck that require 10 soul. So, instant skills unlocked? Okay I'm loving this.

That's not the only good thing about Rigil. He has a freaking amazing Legion skill. Whenever you have 15 or more soul and you attack, he can CB2 and Retire freaking 3. 3. Bruno, Doreen, Grade 1s against Sanctuary Guard, whatever annoying unit that exists in the field is now gone. Freaking bam. Say bye. And also, Retiring 3 once, apparantly, is enough to cut down my opponent's recourses to just about nothing. Whenever I use the skill twice my opponent has about 2-3 cards in hand.

Budget Deck: Pale Moon

Best pic ever 10/10
Pale Moon circus, where the beasts try to eat their tamers as they get whipped, is a great clan. All the comboes and chains that this clan can pull off is great. The Star Sub-clan of this clan is- Silver Thorns! And this, is, practically the only Pale Moon build available as for now, since apparantly everything else sucks. I've heard a lot of people tell me that Generic Pale Moon just sucks. Eh, yeah it totally does (Sarcasm, while Silver Thorn is still better). Not that I'm complaining though. Rule #1 of Budgetfight Vanguard: Underrated is good.

Budget Deck: Gear Chronicle

Tick Tock Tick Tock!
Gear Chronicle. A mysterious clan that came from another timeline, that became the "police" of Cray, controlling Stride, is right on the meta line... Sorta. Gear Chronicle, being a new clan, lacks options, support, and cards. It is the current protagonist clan in the anime, so it'll get overwhelming support sometime soon enough, but as for now, Budget deck time!

Firstly, I want to talk about Ragnaclock Dragon. This is an amazing finisher unit for GC. It gives a Silent Tom skill to himself and a crit for just one CB. So this is a staple for all GC decks.
Did you catch that? It's the forbidden Foiled Staple.

This costs like $20 for one. For One. People this is ridiculous as hell.

Budget Deck: Great Nature (Bigbelly)

Great Nature! The school paradise of Zoo! The students and teachers are animals!... Wait what?

Great Nature was a budget deck (And still is, at least compared to the other clans). But with G-BT02, Bigbelly and Managarm (A.K.A. Lava Arm) introduced, the price to a normal GN deck rose ridiculously. Fortunately, we can still make a very solid budget deck with our choices.

Firstly, I need to talk about something. When the End Phase starts, the actions of the G-unit going back to the G-zone and the units retiring, are activated simuntaniously. When an action starts simuntaniously, the turn player can choose which action activates first. So, you can return the G-unit to the G-zone, then retire. How is this important?

Simply put, you can still activate effects like Tester Fox's unflip even if you Strided that turn. This brings us a concept called Looping.

Budget Deck: Gold Paladins (Liberators)

Tachiagare, Boku no Bunshin!
Liberators, the "clan" that superior calls from the top few cards of the deck. People complain that this clan is Lackluster and needs luck. And while this is true, it isn't going to a long extent.

Gold Paladins have the effect of gaining effects whenever a RG is called from the deck, powering up from the number of Rear-Guards, etc.

So firstly, the unit we have to talk about is Prominence Core. My god this is an amazing card. The Legion skill is just there, your real point is that second skill. You can CB1, retire 1, to check the top 4 cards and call a RG. This is a perfect effect to fix your bad calls (Called a Grade 2 to the back row with Aglo) and consistently call a RG every turn. It means that Bruno powers up, you get a potential crit effect, etc.

Budget Deck: Narukami (Brawlers)

Brawlers are a bunch of bullies who just fight fist-on-fist. Among these, the big bad is Big Bang Knuckle Buster. It can... Literally clear the field. It's not even funny. Big Bang costs like... $30? Nononononononononono don't build a deck around him and say "It's a Budget Deck!". Don't you dare.

So, before there was Big Bang, there was Skybeat Dragon. Yes, the horrible card that retires one front row unit. Yes, I'm telling you to build around him.

Inazuma~~~ 11!
People underestimate this too much, it's not even funny. That little free retire comes in handy. Yes it does. In fact, you can literally combine this and the mate and Earthcrack Dragon to create an absolute front row demolishing beast. It works better than you think.

But we won't be front row demolish in this deck: we'll be beating down stuff. Wait, no, put your fists down, we'll be making a Beatdown deck (Funny how that works).

Budget Deck: Dimension Police (Dimensional Robos)

-Insert Random Kenji Ride Chant here-
Dimensional Robos, Drobos for short, are some kind of Super Sentai Megazord buisness. I mean, look at every single unit out there! It's clearly gigantic robos fighting for Justice! Wait, is it Transformers? Anyway, Drobos boast an amazing amount of Critical sacking on one place, and mainly now, guard breaking.

Budget Deck: Genesis

Genesis is a clan that Soulblasts for skills they took from other clans. No seriously. Everything from Genesis copied it from something else, like Restanding (Both VG and RG), Drawing (OTT?) Powering up the entire front row (Royal Paladin).
Complete Genesis clone.

Budget Deck: Nubatama

Nin!

Nubatama. Ah, the memories. Nubatama was first introduced at BT01, but when Bushi realized that it was OP as hell and just pure annoying, they stopped supporting the clan, and Nubatama's legacy ended with only 4 cards being released... Supposedly. After one long year of the faithful Ninja players waiting, they finally got their Ninja support! Nin Nin! They returned, introducing their new binding techniques to "balance" them off. But you know, whenever I see Nuba players, I see a lot of people playing it in the worst way possible. There's no wrong way to play, just that there's a best way. For Nubas, that's Pressure.
