Budget Deck: Murakumo (Shirayuki)

Ghost waifu
First time playing around without the old format. Here we go.

Now, Shirayuki is a very popular unit that's recently been reprinted in the Revival Collection, and she's a pretty fun one. Her skill gives herself +20,000 defense at the cost of a Personablast. It's considerably cheap and facilitates guarding Glory/Tom skills and other guard restricting skills like PB "Diablo" and Mayhem Tiger, since the skill isn't considered guarding. But... it's a defensive skill in a pretty aggressive clan so it puts her in a bit of an odd spot. She can handle being a very defensive card, but she herself applies no aggressive pressure. Fortunately, your rearguards and strides can handle being offensive for you.

Now first off, we have to be able to search out Shirayukis to pay for her Persona. There's actually... quite a few options actually. First up is the Shirayuki's catered stride Cosmetic Snowfall Shirayuki, who calls out a Shirayuki from deck and adds it to hand at the end of the turn. Obviously a 4-of in your G-Zone. The other two major searchers are the Oboro brothers and Kagura Bloome. Oboro Cart and Keeper work early game and are perfect for getting Shirayuki into hand early, and Kagura Bloome fetches you two copies of Shirayuki whenever you break ride. You probably are gonna be using 4 Shirayuki 4 Kagura Bloome as your Grade 3 lineup and your G1 and G2 slots aren't too tight so running all of these searchers.

On the topic of other Grade 3s, I also tested Shirayuki with the Magatsu Legion as backup. It worked... okay I guess? You could try it out if you'd like, but i preferred Kagura Bloome for the Shirayuki search.

Bird Bird Bird
Bird is the Word
As a starter, I can't recommend anything other than Fugen. Fugen is absolutely perfect in Shirayuki and lets you recycle copies of her and actually use her Persona Blast more than 3 times a game. For free. It's absolutely amazing and nothing works better than it in Shirayuki. Honestly a godsend. I'd even play two. I recommend you play two. It's that good.

There's no need to worry about your Perfect Guards. White Heron's $4 or so and the Counter Charge is very, very welcome in Murakumo. CB goes away in this deck pretty damn fast and the extra Countercharge is always nice. If you can pick her up, you honestly should. Countercharge PGGs are hard to come by cheap nowadays and such a low price one like Heron should be used. If you really want to have cheap perfect guards and can't afford Herons play Shizune. She's $0.50 or so. Dirt. Cheap. The skill is basically useless in this deck but eeeeehhhh. Cheap PG is Cheap PG.

Now that the foundations are laid, we need to flesh out the rest of the deck. Most of which is just aggressive engines.

Strides aren't super important since you're gonna be mostly striding Cosmetic Snowfall, but you might as well have a full G-Zone. Kagamijishi would be an amazing budget stride in this deck... if it had efficient ways of cloning. So I guess for budget strides you're stuck with Train... Kiyohime is also another option for budget stride and can fetch extra copies of Fugen if necessary.

Dual Weapons are
better than one
G-guard lineup is dirt cheap, so no worries on that end.

Dual Weapon and Lake Diver are both pretty nice. Dual Weapon provides extra attacks if his own attack gets blocked, which is already amazing, but he can also call out Lake Diver, which calls out more Lake Divers to make a fresh new field. It costs a lot of CB to do so, but its still pretty worth it for what it does. You can also double restand in this deck now with Homura Raider, so yeah pretty good stuff. Homura Raider's somewhat affordable now, so if you want you can go ahead and get it.

Now onto the more expensive stuff that you have the option of getting.

First up, Shibarakku Buster. For CB1 SB2, he recycles a card from your drop(Read: Shirayuki) and gives one of your rearguards a drive check skill. It's very, very solid and you can even give the drive check still to a Grade 3 and let it have Twin Drive. It's pretty pricy at $15, but considering you only need one it's a pretty fair price. I highly recommend it.

Yasuie Tenma's the second expensive Stride that you can choose. He's a really good finisher, basically giving you an extra attack for every open Counterblast you have. Unfortunately he's $16 each and you need two copies, but he's the best finisher Muras got.

Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommended that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.

2x Stealth Demon of Crow Feathers, Fugen
16x Triggers of Choice

Grade 1:

Effectiveness: 6.5/10

Price: $30-35

Competitive: Maybe

Final Words: Shirayuki's pretty fun. Not amazing, of course, but still a great defensive build that, considering all the Guard Restricting that's in the meta right now, can hold her own against a good amount of the top decks and clans at the moment. Hopefully Murakumo can get some even better stuff in GBT10, so pick up your Murakumo stuff now while it's cheap!

Anyhow, see you in the next one!

  2. So you think that gbt10 will help this deck? Is there better option if you have more budget?

    1. Of course. Pretty much anything generic will help out Shirayuki. Especially Yasuie Gouma, if he's generic, since he lets you build up a field without using any hand.

  3. Do you think Dueling Dragons would be viable in the current times? I want to try my best to make my deck better but it's hard atm. Should I run mostly the same cards as this shirayuki build?

    1. Like a Zanbaku and Zangeki Deck.

    2. Dueling Dragons require their entire own build.

They can be run as a casual deck, but I doubt anything more than that.

  4. With the Raging Clash set being out for a while now, I was wondering if Nirvana, Yaegaki could work as a substitution for Oboro Cart. Would the extra 1k, soul blast cost, and rear guard column restriction be worth running with this deck?

  5. I might be asking too much for a $35 deck but... Is the deck still viable in the current meta?
