Deck Spotlight: Triochou (Bermuda Triangle)

Best Onee-san figure
...God it's been 3 entire months since I wrote something here. Handling a job, two blogs, moderating
on discord, and playtesting all of my decks ended up being a lot for me to handle.

But I'm here now, so that's what counts.

In terms of new sets, we've just left Bermuda month and now have our annual Bermuda set, Prismatic Divas! All the stuff in the set, bar SPs, Ange, and Lapria, are all really, really cheap now so if you want to get anything out of the set I highly recommend you do now. $4 Kukuris are just... wew.

But the hottest new thing out of Bermuda month is Bermuda's first Trial Deck, introducing the new Bermuda archetype: Chouchou(pronounced Shushu, just as a side note. It's French).

The new archetype involves sending your own rearguards to the bottom of the deck to gain benefits. Unfortunately the benefits aren't too great at the moment and the deck is riddled with resource problems, but it's still a very fun deck that can be built on a pretty low budget. The main deck is entirely commons and Trial Deck cards, after all.

Most people have been building Chouchou around Tirua as the main Grade 3. While she is a very good card I found her to... not really work with the deck well. Eventually my Madew fetish led me to trying out the one 10k Grade 3 Chouchou has to offer, Melviz, as my main ride and... I actually really liked how it turned out.

Here's the build.

Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommend that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.

Grade 0:
1x Chouchou, Sasha
4x Chouchou, Serah
2x Chouchou, Ietta
3x Chouchou, Pitte
3x Dreamer Dreamer, Kruk
4x Chouchou, Richell

Grade 1:
4x Image Master, Kukuri
4x Chouchou, Malviz
3x Chouchou, Plare
2x Talent of Perseverance, Shandee

Grade 2:
4x Chouchou, Selviz
4x Chouchou, Listella
4x Chouchou, Ayana

Grade 3:
4x Chouchou, Melviz
3x Chouchou, Muritz
1x Chouchou Stage Debut, Tirua

Grade 4:
4x Rain Element, Madew
2x Snow Element, Valancher
0-2x Chouchou Headliner, Lapria
4x School Etoile, Olyvia
2x Chouchou, Pallfy

1x Highest Society, Citron
1x Chouchou Engage Lead, Plati

Looks weird, but trust me it works great.

The main strategy is multiattack combos. Muritz and Kruk are your key playmakers, with Olyvia as your main pressure/finisher stride.

Moemaids finally affordable
The trio is here for a multitude of reasons. One, it enables the use of Madew and Valancher by riding into Melviz. Two, it gives access to Malviz, one of the only resource recovery options available to the entire deck. Three, it makes Olyvia turns very, very scary. Especially when Lapria is a much to expensive option for budget players.

Speaking of Olyvia. Olyvia was always, for the longest time, completely out of reach for many players. Made playing budget Bermuda very difficult. Fortunately, Bushiroad decided to reprint Olyvia for the third time and made her much, much more accessable at about $10. Still might be difficult for some to pick up, but $10 for what used to be a $40-50 GR? I'll take it.

Lapria's the more expensive of the two. She's $20 each, which is sorta ass, but try to pick up at least a pair. She's definitely worth it if you can pick up at least a pair.

Potential Changes

Instead of Kukuri you can use Tino if you think you can manage Counterblast well enough. Tino's cheaper too if you need to save some cash. If you want to go more ham on the attacks, Hulala can be swapped for Sasha.

If you can find them play Spica. Even more easy access to multi attacks. I'd swap out Ayana for it, or maybe some each of Ayana or Listella.

Effectiveness: 8/10

Price: $70-80($110 with Lapria)

Competitive: Can't beat out Tier 1, but can hold it's own in Tier 2

Final Words:This is a really cheap, really solid deck build that I highly recommend trying. The deck is very mechanic-intensive, so don't worry if you can't get it on the first try. Once you get the hang of it, Triochou can serve you very, very well. Olyvia/Lapria lethal turns are heavenly in this deck.

See ya in the next one! I'll try not to be dead this time lol.

  1. so what makes tier 1 such an unplayable outside of Luards late game auto-win, gears stupid exploids, sancs stupid triggers, nightrose featuring mick, and seven seas being ass? On that note i think they should limit all trigger 4k effect units down to 1 they are a money sink, and are usually way too good.
