Deck Spotlight: CCCCCCC Rush (Seven Seas Rush)

Get it? Seven Cs? Seven Seas? I'm so funny. So good at jokes...

No one's laughing? Nobody? Ok then...

Seven Seas Rush is starting to get a good amount of popularity and for good reason. First of all, it's a Grade 1 Rush deck and gets all the benefits that Grade 1 decks have, but compared to Liberator or Seeker Rush is much more potent.

There are many reasons for this:
  1. It has a much stronger offensive, with availability to Slash Shade and Prisoner Dragon, as well as being able to call Grade 2s that can hit 11k Vanguards solo.
  2. It has much better field scalability. Nightcrow, Slash Shade, and Prisoner Dragon can replace your weaker units that you call for early rush.
  3. It has plussing methods, which Seeker and Lib Rush both lack. Nightrunner, Raistutor, and Cody all call free units from drop which, as explained in Point 2, can be replaced with better units from drop. If you only have one card in hand and enough Counterblast you can still call a full field of units.
  4. Most important of all(sorta), Seven Seas Rush has the option to ride to Grade 3 with Plegeton. This is huge. Most Rush decks have to forsake the idea of a G-Zone and all the benefits that riding gives you, but not Seven Seas Rush. You keep your skewed rushing ratios while keeping your ability to ride to Grade 3, as well as stride.
Now, onto the decklist!

Grade 0:
1x Rookie Pirate, Gina
4x Seven Seas Apprentice, Nightrunner
4x Cody the Ghostie
4x Performing Zombie
8x Critical Triggers

Grade 1:
4x Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Raistutor
4x Seven Seas Helmsman, Nightcrow
4x Greedy Mimic
4x Evil Shade
3x Skeleton Assault Soldier

Grade 2:
4x Seven Seas Pillager, Nightspinel
4x Seven Seas Master Swordsman, Slash Shade

Grade 3:
1-2x Seven Seas Sage, Plegeton
0-1x Seven Seas Dragon Undead, Prisoner Dragon

SKELETOR!
Just a quick rundown of the cards.

Nightrunner and Cody both get you free cards. Rookie Pirate, Gina's being used as the starter, which can filter out your hand of Grade 2s and Grade 3s you can't use. There's also Chappie the Ghostie as an option for selective milling.

12 Crits, of course. Performing Zombie is good for getting key units in the drop, just like Chappie. You can decide to run full Crit, if you want. Rough Seas Banshee, in particular, is a great Crit and lets you swap herself for another unit which can be used to rush.

Greedy Mimic is a 9k beater Rush unit. Simple and solid unit.

Assault Soldier goes to the bind zone when he gets retired, becoming a more worthwhile sack option for Slash Shade and Nightcrow and giving you some defense in a rush deck. PGs and Quintets are an option, I guess, if you want a different way of guarding.

Evil Shade boosts for 10k, allowing your 7k Vanguard to hit magic G3 numbers, and mills your deck, which is great in Granblue in general.

Raistutor and Nightcrow are self explanatory. Both are Seven Seas and your main ride targets. Tutor calls free cards and Crow for scalability.

Nightspinel filters out G2s and G3s that you don't need to call her out. Also gets more power when more Seven Seas units are called for more offense.

Slash Shade. Do I need to say anything else? OFFENSE FOR DAYS!

Plegeton can ride himself from drop, allowing easy access to Grade 3. Very strong, and leads into his second skill that gives you a free plus.

Prisoner Dragon is a Slash Shade clone. No explanation required.

Your G-Zone can be anything you can afford. Blueheart, Rum, Obadiah, Nightmist, Atmos, Gouache, so on and so forth. Even Nightrose, if you'd like.

Effectiveness: 9.5/10

Price: $8-10

Competitive: Yes

Final Words: Seven Seas Rush is ridiculous. Strong scalability, strong rush, and options make it a very good deck. It's also not vulnerable to Sebreeze, leaving Twitterun as the only option for GB-decks to fight back. It strides the line of being meta, since it's Seven Seas, and anti-meta, for being a Rush deck. It's also really cheap to get, so if you want to pick it up I highly suggest you do.

On another note, what does Seven Seas Rush mean for the game? It's a great deck and just goes to show how innovative Cardfight players are getting, as well as how complex and interesting this game will become as time goes on. On the other hand, it's a rush deck that's somewhat, if not completely, degenerate and is quite difficult and upsetting to play against. Honestly, I'm not sure how this is going to go.

But who knows. More rush decks might mean more Season 3 decks making a combat to fight the rush!

Anyhow, see you in the next one!

  1. Still trying getting used with CCCCCCC at the moment as I haven't played it before...
There are 47 cards in your decklist...
Maybe Evil Shade or Samurai Spirit can be put in the list.

    1. Ooh that's right I forgot to put in Evil Shade. Definitely have him at 3.

Samurai Spirit is iffy, but it's an option

    2. Most of the time Skeleton Assault Soldier ended up in the Drop Zone due to Seven Seas Apprentice, Nightrunner effect.

Units like Deadly Nightmare & Samurai Spirit might be useful in the Drop Zone for more option.

    3. the thing is, Samurai Spirit and Deadly Nightmare need soul. The majority of the time, you don't have any, so they end up being dead cards, both in-hand and in-drop. Skeleton is at least able to do work while in hand.

    4. You're right...
      Depends on the situation...
It's up to the player whether need extra defense or offense...

    1. A Perfect Guard is -2 from hand and is terrible for rushing. Quintet Walls could be used, but Perfect Guards don't make the cut here.

    2. so i tested the deck and it ended terribly for me, at times i don't even know which card to call or any combos to use. I basically had an 11k vg hitting another 11k vg. Any tips or comboes. Oh and yeah how well is this going to do against sp ritual and the new gear chronicle (Groove I think)

    3. Always call Evil Shade or a 7k booster behind VG. 17k/14k Vanguard Column is ideal. The other columns should be 14k or 21k depending on the situation. Nightspinel is your best tool for making columns, and Nightcrow is your best tool for setting up your field.

This deck destroys SP Ritual and Gear Chronicle. They just have to sit back and eat attacks, since they're GB-locked.

  3. Let's say I have two "Prisoner Dragon" RearGuard and Raistutor is my Vanguard. In my Drop Zone got one "Slash Shade".

During Battle Phase I use both of my "Prisoner Dragon" for my first & second attack.

When my Vanguard attack, I retired one of the "Prisoner Dragon" to superior call "Slash Shade" from Drop Zone.

And then just like the previous move, I retired the second "Prisoner Dragon" and superior call the first "Prisoner Dragon" that I just put in the drop zone before in the same turn.

Is it possible or do I miss the timing?

    1. You miss timing.

Prisoner Dragon isn't in the Drop when the trigger happens, so you can't use his skill.

  4. I replaced Skeleton Assault Soldier with Chappie The Ghostie and the deck runs more smoothly as I can setup my drop zone.

  5. Considering putting this deck together as my first (I've heard mixed things about going G1 rush as a newbie before learning the other decks, but the price makes it very tempting).

Is this a deck that can be built upon later to allow for striding?

    1. You could say that.

This can, eventually, build up into an actual Seven Seas deck with more investment.

We also have a Seven Seas decklist on this site if you look for it.

    2. Perfect, I'll search for that decklist now.

I'm having trouble finding some of the cards you listed for this rush deck (Performing Zombie, Greedy Mimic and Evil Shade), are there cards you would recommend to use in their place or does the deck need those particular cards?

    3. Greedy Mimic is found in the Nightrose Trial Deck

Evil Shade is necessary for getting your 17k Vanguard Columns

Performing Zombie isn't necessary, but it help with consistency
