Originally, I was planning to write about Vanquisher, but then he went up to about $9.50. Then for some godforsaken reason Grandgallop went up to... $26. After that, I went looking for a couple stuff I could actually write about, and I ended up in Chatnoir and Nightrose, and since I have next to no experience with the former, I decided to go with Nightrose. I actually tried Nightrose afterall. And luckily, most of Nightrose's pieces are located in G-TD08, which is also said to be one of the better G-TDs around, which makes stuff a lot better.
Grade 4
MWAHAHAHA |
Obadiah is a great Stride. He's an amazing toolbox maker. All thanks to Obadiah, GB doesn't have to mill 30 cards away from the deck anymore to make sure hat they have the drop to utilize and fear deckout. Now, GB can truly run 1 of any card and make it work extremely effectively. Also, Obadiah can basically "tutor out" any card.
Aside from Obadiah, we have Maread, who is a good card that can fetch up a lot of cards extremely easily, mainly Grenache who can be called out for free in addition to other stuff (since Grenache's Grade 0 doesn't count as one of the grades that Maread can call)
GB has a good G-Guard in the form of Deep Corpse Dragon, who is extremely easy to trigger. He does help deck thinning, which can be both a good thing and a bad thing, but he's still better than other things, like Oriphiel.
Aside from max copies of these three (except maybe Deep Corpse who can be replaced with Agleam and of course Dizmel/Scryew/Sebreeze if you have them, and Obadiah of which 2 tends to be enough but we run 4 just for the space filling and deck thinning), you put in space fillers, such as Bandit Rum, Blueheart, Blizza and etc. Also, if you have Nightroses, fetch them in, even if you only have 1 since the Nightrose Name's important.. She's an amazing Stride, just $25 each.
Grade 3
Obviously max Nightrose. She's great, and she's dirt cheap (considering that she comes from a TD). Her On-stride skill makes an amazingly consistent fetcher, and that GB2, while rarely used, is extremely niche. Then for the backup, there are a couple choices. My main to-go choice would be Nightstorm 2.0, considering that he can help in multi attacking and overall is nifty with that on-ride effect too.
My next thingy as a backup would be Blackgick, considering that he's a really interesting card and preety damned niche. If only he could function RG too... And also if only English Bushi didn't fuck up his translation like they always do from Blackgeek...
Gast Dragon is an interesting tech-in, since he's a good power gainer that can help get rid of stuff like Skeleton Cannoneer for something more useful. That milling is a lil eh though.
If you have Cocytus (Reverse is better), you could use him and the Stride, which would be fun to watch.
Last mention would go to Negrobolt, who is legion material, and the rest should be self-explanatory. The guy's effect's extremely good too.
Grade 2
Sit around doing nothing and you'll get pricy overtime |
... well this is bad.
That being said, thanks to Obadiah, you can run just 1 and get away with it. I'd run 2-3 if possible at minimum though. Negrolazy is a good card after all, that can make a column with Nightstorm 2.0 and Colombard and the likes during Battle Phase for technically free and give power boosts all day, which is amazing.
On the topic of Colombard, run it. It's a good card that fuels your offensive shenanigance a lot, and there's nothing for you to lose by running it, especially moreso since it comes from a TD.
The last choice for Grade 2 should be Negrorook, which is amazing. I mean, a 16 column alone is pretty damned impressive, and if you call it from hand it still acts as a 11k beater. It makes Colombard and Nightstorm 2.0 more effective and overall good.
Other "usable" cards consists of Deadly Spirit, who can help you empty your soul to get Grenache to trash and etc, Pietro, who can help unclip (although this is redundant with Grenache), Skeleton Cannoneer who is a good tech and has a good effect (but I shun on it. I don't like it) and finally, Ghoul Dragon who provides you pressure and serves as Negrobolt's mate as well as serving as a situational retirer, while unreliable.
Grade 1
The ocean rumbles when my belly does |
Then there's Negrobone, another of Nightrose's limited support (not really when you can splash G4 Nightrose in any GB build, but that's another story). Negrobone is an extremely good card that can help do shenanigans shit with Negrorook and Colombard with having 5 attacks in one turn. When you use it with Negrolazy and have the resources, you can turn that into 6 with a second Negrobone, but that requires 4 CBs in total and is situational so let's not talk about that. Either ways, the key point here is that Negrobone is good, despite the fact that you rarely use the effect.
Then there's the Stride fodder, right? Then the Nightmare and/or Cutlass for emptying the soul, either that or Sea Strolling Banshee for max utility of drawing, right? Then finally there's Underling who acts as a 16k beater and a perfect fetching target for Nightrose/Negrolazy, and can be used as a tech. And... that's more or less it
PGs? The TD comes with dirt cheap ones!
Grade 0
GRENACHE BEST STARTER EVER OMIGAWD FANBOI *dies*
I've been praising Grenache a lot for a reason. That unflipping utility is something that is amazing for helping you do comboes and multi attack shenanigance and a lot of other stuff. The only downside is that you have to get it into the trash quickly, which isn't that hard. However, there are people that run Grenache in their decks, but not as their starters for that very reason. OBADIAH can get it into the trash anyways. However, it's not like GB has a whole variety of good starters to choose from either ways (which is basically Peter and Forbidden Space Banshee), so if I must, I'd just use 2 Grenache.
If it isn't obvious, Rough Sea Banshee should be your go-to Critical trigger. I shouldn't have to explain why. Another effect trigger worth mentioning is Mick, who can help recycle triggers, and make attack shenanigance even better than they already are. Plus, Stands are very usable in this deck.
Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommend that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.
Grade 1:
4x Perfect Guard of Choice
3x Tommy the Ghostie Brothers
3x Sea Rumble Banshee
2x Witch Doctor of the Powdered Bone, Negrobone
1x Skeleton Underling Pirate/Dancing Cutlass/Sea Strolling Banshee
Grade 2:
4x Pirate Swordsman, Colombard
4x Witch Doctor of the Rotten Sea, Negrorook
3x Witch Doctor of Languor, Negrolazy
1x Dragon Undead, Ghoul Dragon
Grade 4:
4x Demon Sea Queen, Maread
3x Ghostie Great King, Obadiah
3x Eclipse Dragonhulk, Deep Corpse Dragon
2x Pirate King of Secret Schemes, Bandit Rum
2x Pirate King of the Abyss, Blueheart
1x Light Element, Agleam
1x Snow Element, Blizza
Effectiveness: 8/10
Price: $60-80 USD, $80-100 CAD, €70-90 EU
Competitive: Hell yeah with waifuness.
Final Words: Nightrose is an extremely fun deck that can do a lot of offence as well as call a lot, and even act as PM is with Magia against control decks (not named Universe, of course), and overall has amazing utility. Plus, considering Obadiah and all the tech options you can do, testing the deck is extremely fun (considering you're casual at least, you won't be able to do that as a competitive player lol). I'd recommend Nightrose heavily as a to-go choice for GB. Plus, again, she's amazingly cheap.
The actual decklist seems to have undergone some shrinking issues due to text size =)
ReplyDeleteThe actual decklist seems to have undergone some shrinking issues due to text size =)
ReplyDeleteI'll fix it later
ReplyDeleteFinished building!!! Now all I have to do is to fix it up to my tastes (My play style is aggressive and at the same time defensive similar to angel feather, field control also.) Anyways now that I'vs finished building nightrose, would like to ask if you would build "Hammsuke" (Have loads of memory of him, pretty much why I wanna build.)
ReplyDeleteSo you like having everything? Lol.
DeleteOn the topic of Hammsuke, the answer is... Maybe? Pencil Squire is $5 right now, so it really depends. Probably could fit it into the budget, but I'll see.
I have no idea how any of the Hammsuke stuff look like atm, so I'm probably not gonna write it anytime soon. If anything, it'd be Chatnoir.
Deletetheres the new grade 1 hammsuke which can be used as a sub for a squire, considering the hammsuke are pretty old and dirt cheap back in the days some people would have some left, I myself have 1 squire 3 knight and 1 hero!
DeleteI guess
DeleteSpoil me xD
DeleteHi there, would there be any way to make a shadow paladin deck? It's be interesting to see them have some love!
ReplyDeleteI/Tachi will probably write about Shadow Paladin sometime, but there are a few other clans that I want to write about(and Buddyfight, of course!) so you'll have to possibly have to wait a bit. There's also the SP Trial Deck that has been confirmed, so I might just wait until that gets spoiled before writing.
DeleteSP Budget deck = 2x Legend Deck lol
DeleteMore like 1x Legend Deck 4x Deathspray. : D
Deletepossible good reprints in the upcoming shadow trial deck
DeleteOkay epic thank you all so much for the replies!

ReplyDeleteAs you mentioned in ur blog that u would probably do a chatnoir deck, if so would that be a chatnoir tester fox deck? Basically what is the card that ur using chatnoir with. And for the strides cath plug how many should I run. thx
ReplyDeleteI see mostly Tester Fox as backup, with a teched-in big belly. If I remember, 3-4 Cath Palug is good, but I don't really know how the new strides fit in, so you're gonna have to wait for Tachi if you want more details
Deletecould you do a dark irregular, amons follower deck!
ReplyDeleteLet's be real here.
DeleteAmon budget is not gonna be possible anytime soon
isn't amon like super cheap?
DeleteThe original Amon was at minimum around $25 the last time I checked. Reverse was $8-10, which is slightly better.
DeleteAmon is basically known as "the best and the most expensive DI deck around" lol
lol, I can see why now. The original is so broken, generating so many plusses! Just went on tcgplayer typed amon's follower. Result: The cards were 3 dollars max... Anyways theres still the amon legion so its still possible right.
DeleteTachi.
DeleteReverse is $2 USD. Lol...
I made a budget Amon deck on CFA awhile ago, but it was a rush deck that didn't play like Amon at all.
did it work though?
DeleteNot consistently enough to be competitive, but for casual hell yeah! 30-50k Amon Reverse with 2 Crit when your opponent is at Grade 2 is fun as hell.
Deletejasojoddvjoivjvjoi, forget I said that its possible, how stupid I just realized that the godamn expensive amon is the mate for the legion! Sigh...
ReplyDeletecould u make a bermuda triangle 'Raindear' deck profile?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say this, but I am not making a Raindear deck, for the sole reason that it underperformed during my testing. I could send you a decklist if you'd like, but I'm not dedicating a whole blog to it.
DeleteFor the record, I would like the decklist. It doesn't even need to be budget.
