Budget Deck: Gold Paladin (Gurguit)

Solar Knight!
There's only one thing to say about Gurguit decks.

Defense, Defense, and Defense.

No, seriously. Gurguit decks have a massive superial calling network the moment they Stride. The moment you Stride, your massive calling power
shenanigans starts.

Problem? Striding is too slow, and against rush decks, you'll be able to make one move before you die, since the deck is mostly vanila until mid-game or so.

There isn't a real way to solve the problem, so can't be helped. Deal with it.

Grade 0

Ezel's son.
Starters first. So, I tested around a little bit (More like played around) and I found Rising Lionet the best starter. If I use my personal graph of advantage scales, this guy is a wash, and a possible +1. Meh, but the real reason is because the +5k comes in really useful.

If you like Spring Breeze Messenger better, then use him. It isn't that bad since it helps your deck not be vanila until you Stride. Although if you pull out something like Fhamgal it won't work since... Generation Break.

Trigger lineup? No, not 12 crit. There's just one card that one can't just pass by in GP. It's Gigantech Ringer. My god, people. This is insanely good. Seriously hear me out. This guy, with Lionet, with Scourge Point Dragon. Imagine....

So, I can't imagine that you'll have space for Draws in this deck, but if you somehow do, then run Falcon Knight of the Azure. Also, run as many Flame of Victories as you can.

Grade 1

Harry Potter, with
Golden armor.
Now I've seen everything.
I just checked, and apparantly, Bryderi's price is cheaper than normal PGs. Ookay~ just run him! Meh, the "Searchable by Gurguit's GB2!" is not worth it. In the first place, you won't use Gurguit's GB2 that often. I actually use i only once in 10 games. On paper it's great, but considering the cost, and being slow (GB2), it really isn't worth it. With Bry, you can unflip, which isn't bad.

You have 2 decent draw engines in this deck. Coolgal and Dindrane. Coolgal is GB1, which is slow, and Dindrane is a SB1 withught GB1, which collides with Gurguit's GB2. As I said: Gurguit almost never uses his GB2, and Coolgal gets useless during Spring Breeze early call or Heli call. So welp, in the end it's up to you, but I'd run Coolgal if you don't have Heli nor Spring Breeze.

This one unit is amazing. Helps GP get into the non-GB restricted zone, and has a really great effect. Invitation Liberator, Rud obviously helps you get out of the GB route, and a wash for an extra attack. A quality wash. It's really good, and I'd run it. And it isn't even Liberator restricted.

Kahedin is another option. Now, let's compare this to Rud. Rud "retires" itself, Kahedin another unit. Kahedin calls as rest, and Rud doesn't, and finally, Rud pumps up soul for Gurguit. Err... I'd choose Rud over Kahedin anytime, but it's up to you.

Sleimy is... not too great. 4 RGs is preety heavy condition right there, and you almost never get it off (Yes, even if it's GP).

After-glow Liberator, Belinus is decent, if you can find the space.

Grade 2

Gandalf?
So, Holy Mage, Pwyll is apparantly only $3 or so. Eh, I expected a bit more... Anyway back to the point, if you can (and wanna), run him, but then again, comparing it with Viviane.

Pwyll: +1 on boost, GB1 (slow).
Viviane: +1 on boost and hit, no GB1 (fast).

So both of them are viable options on the point of running (Or possibly both) since... Welp, before Stride turn calling gets preety important, especially when it's a plussing engine.

Merron is okay, I guess... Oh what am I talking about free +1s! (Although it does have a fail rate of 40%)

As always, Lop Ear Shooter is a viable option.

Tripp? I'm not too sure... Since welp, there's Saphir...

Sleygal Sword in this deck = pure greatness power spam (As long as conditions) since this deck doesn't use as many CBs as you think it would. Al least withought Pwyll anyway.]

Now... Here's a staple! Farmgal... Err, Fhamgal is great in this deck, especially if you can combo off with it VIA Scourge Point Dragon. It gets insane.

Heli is great. No question asked.

Grade 3

So, personally I used Spectral Duke Dragon as my backup boss, but I'm preety sure that there are better options out there. Like Lofty Head Lion. Or Danvallo. Maybe even Garmore! In the end, your choice.

Also, BTW, Gurguit's price is raising. Hurry up.
Grade 4

*Ring ring ring*
So... I ran 4 Campbell, 2 Scourge Point Dragon and 2 Spearcross Dragon... But screw it! Just run 4 Campbell and 4 Scrouge Point. There were more times that you wanted to Stride Scrouge point than I first thought. You would use it about 2-3 times a game. In Liberators Campbell was so much better but...

Also, Blizza. If you know that you'll probably die next turn, then use this to insta-GB2, and get a chance of cheating death.

Decklist:
Note: I highly support building your own decks and doing your own testings. Please do not straight out use this deck, but use it as a base to start and spread out and make your own Version.

Effectiveness: 6/10

Price: $40-50

Competetive: Maybe

Final Words: This deck is, surprisingly, really fun to use. Calling spam and Gurgrit power spam works just waay too well. I really wouldn't call this deck "Autopilot", but it is fairly easy to use. I'm not too sure how this'll do against competetive decks since I really didn't test much with this deck, at all, but I expect it to work... Well enough, hopefully.
