Update Deck: Angel Feather (Celestials)

I found this picture and it's honestly beautiful.
So I’ve been asked to share my Celestial build a ton lately due to Celestials being fun, dirt cheap, and actually pretty decent. I feel the reason that Celestials always seems to be forgotten about or thought of as “the bad Angel Feather subclan” is because they live in the shadow of the other two main Angel Feather decks: Nociel and Gavrail. Nociel has a huge advantage engine and multiattacks, which is the reason they were able to destroy the meta for a while after FC2015 Winter. Gavrail, aside from the waifu factor, also has multiattacks, insane defense, and power columns with Broken Heart.

Although Celestials don't have access to that, Celestials have their own tools that make them strong. They can call from the Damage Zone incredibly easy, power up entire formations, and essentially have 8 copies of Nurse of Broken Hearts. They also still have access to the Generic Angel Feather G Zone, which has Black Seraph and Raphael. Raziel is great for resetting the Damage Zone, and Refros was limited for a very, very good reason. Even at 1, he’s amazing if you draw into him.

The deck didn't get much support in Divine Dragon Caper, but the little support they got was quality. Anafiel serves as a great finisher G Unit, Yophiel can call itself for essentially no cost, and Bahariya turns everything in your hand into a stride fodder so you don’t have to minus to stride while triggering Broken Heart as well.

Celestials can also thin the deck at an incredibly fast pace (lolAsbeel) and put triggers back with the Legion. Batarel is awesome, setting up the damage zone and then the drop zone so that you can Legion. It gets a free plus on-legion, and makes it even easier to fulfill Celestial’s trademark effect of “Get X effect when you have a card in the damage zone with the same name as one on you VG”.

Moving on to deck choices, one common thing I see people doing is not running Yophiel because they are afraid of riding her. I respect that, but I honestly don’t think using the other Celestial G3s are any better. In my opinion, Batarel is the best VG for reasons stated above. Speeding up the legion by itself, setting up the damage zone, and free plusses is great to have on one card. If you end up riding Yophiel sure it’s bad, but it’s better than having a ton of dead G3s late game when you don’t. Yophiel is easy field advantage and I simply love her. Also p, you can still do your damage shenanigans early-game, so it shouldn’t be a huge problem getting Batarel if you don’t get her in your opening hand.

The G2 lineup has been something I’ve seen change greatly between different Celestial builds. I use 4 Mel'ejal and 3 Broken Heart. They do the exact same thing for Celestials except Broken is GB locked, both of which are amazing for both offense and defense. Throwing out a Raziel for 10k on each side and 20k to the VG is hilarious. Refros triggers them all twice. The deck literally cannot function without them. You could max them out, but 7 worked best for me. You have enough Damage Zone stuffs to easily get them where you need to. I also run 1 Sariel. 1 is usually an awkward number for me, but it works well. Sariel honestly isn't used a ton, but can grab a PG, an early-game Batarel, or whatever you need. She’s just a great option to have.

I use He-el as my mate over Asmodel. They both apply pressure, but I like He-el more. Assuming you do get Asmodel’s skill off, you have to cater the damage zone to actually do something. Even then you aren’t gaining any advantage. When testing, she simply didn’t do much for me. He-el, on the other hand, hits a magic number by herself and her on-hit is always helpful. Even if you can’t CC, the SC is good for Raziel and Bahariya. You can try Asmodel, but He-el is simply better in my opinion.

The trigger lineup is actually pretty simple. Celestial Heals for obvious reasons, Refros cause Lord Fridge is broken, Asbeel for deck thinning and Broken Heart powerups, and then basically whatever you want. Even after the limitation of Refros, I still like to have 4 Stands so that I have a chance of swinging more with superpowered Nurses. Nociel works better than Surgery because the deck doesn’t benefit a ton off of a rescue check, and grabbing whatever you need from the damage zone is beneficial.

Also, Dizmel works really well in the G Zone if you have the money for him because people will target the troublesome Broken Hearts for attacks.

Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommended that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.

1x Holy Celestial, Mikhael
3x Holy Celestial, Anafiel
2x Holy Seraph, Zachriel
2x Holy Seraph, Raziel

3x Holy Seraph, Suriel
2x Holy Seraph, Oriphiel

Grade 3:
4x Accident Celestial, Batarel
3x Excellence Celestial, Yophiel

Grade 2:
4x Control Celestial, He-el
4x Frontal Celestial, Mel'ejal
3x Nurse of Broken Heart
1x Candle Celestial, Sariel

Grade 1:
4x PG (Celestial PG is ideal)
4x Nursing Celestial, Narelle
3x Absorb Celestial, Bahariya
3x Celestial, Emergency Pegasus

Grade 0:
4x Invert Celestial, Asbeel
4x Gororo, Samyaza, or Stand Triggers
3x Happy Bell, Nociel
1x Doctoroid Refros
4x Recovery Celestial, Ramuel
1x First Aid Celestial, Peniel

Effectiveness: 7/10

Price: $40

Competitive: Probablyish

Final Words: The deck is cheap, fast, consistent, and really fun. Overall, it’s probably weaker than Nociel or Gavrail, but is still a great choice for someone who is learning the clan. It’s a highly tactical deck, and might take some time to master, but should give you promising results.

  1. This deck man, the version i play is really stupid, it basically goes stride anafiel first turn, dump as many cards that are in the damage zone as possible to get a full field of celestials even if it is a heal to get at least a full field of +6 - 9k, swing 30k+ on first stride, repeat every turn until you win or lose. The deck has never run so powerful, i mean you could go Mikhael first but Anafiel i just works 90% of the time better.

    3. Could a hyakki reverse deck with the new support be a viable budget deck?

    4. It definitely could, especially considering Hyakki dropped down to around $8. The deck is strong and easily under $100 unless you want to flesh out the G Zone. The new support finally makes Hyakki his own deck, and it's really cheap other than Hyakki himself.

  2. Since Rummy labyrinth booster is around the corner, could ghosties be a budget deck?
