Budget Deck: Nubatama

Nin!

Nubatama. Ah, the memories. Nubatama was first introduced at BT01, but when Bushi realized that it was OP as hell and just pure annoying, they stopped supporting the clan, and Nubatama's legacy ended with only 4 cards being released... Supposedly. After one long year of the faithful Ninja players waiting, they finally got their Ninja support! Nin Nin! They returned, introducing their new binding techniques to "balance" them off. But you know, whenever I see Nuba players, I see a lot of people playing it in the worst way possible. There's no wrong way to play, just that there's a best way. For Nubas, that's Pressure.

Nubatama's way to bind/discard cards is usually done on-hit, making it an amazing Pressure clan. It's not even funny. If Nubas got a way to power up their Rear-Guards ridiculously, then this clan would be amazing. Just plain amazing.

Grade 3

Curse Calling!
Nubatamas are a horribly undersupported clan.... And thus, we only have a limited amount of units that we can use. Firstly is the break ride... Which actually works nicely. Discard and Bind 1 each is great, and anyway you don't have much other options.

Next to the Break Ride, we have Kabukicongo. This is a practical Retire 5, then get 10k. Unfortunately, it sorta gives your opponent a bit of advantage because... Return RGs to hand at the end of the turn? You should nail for end game if you use the Limit Break. The only gain you get is that you stop Intercepts.. Which isn't that great.

Then we have Yozakuracongo. Seriously what's with all these names? Anyway, Yozakuracongo has a horrible effect in where you discard 2 and CB1 to get +10k, then bind 2. Hey, guess what! Your opponent gets those bind cards back at the end of the turn, but you don't! That discard 2 absolutely went into waste for no reason! Wow... Don't run this guy. The only good it'll do is if you get a LB enabler in the field, then use it early for a 26k attack and speeding up Legion.

Ninja Arts of Smokescreen!
Speaking of Legion, we have Mandoracongo. The one and only Legion Nubas have available for now. And it's once again, horrible. That's not even funny. What the hell is up with that cost? Discard one? Nubatama Grade 3s are supposed to make your opponent discard, not discard on their own. Then the effect. Why would you return a RG for your opponent? As Bermuda proved countless amount of times, returning cards into the hand only gives advantage to your opponent. This binding mechanic only works well when they bind a card from the hand. At least it does bind. If it didn't... I don't even know...

Wow. I just did an overview on the Grade 3 options, and I can already see that Nubatamas are undersupported as hell. At least give this clan a proper finisher, Bushi!

Grade 2

There are only a few options with this clan, so it's so easy to write this article.

Ninja Arts of Protection!
Firstly, is this guy. The effect is... wow. Great. +2k whenever attacking and then an on-hit bind discard 2 is amazing. You ddo actually want to put that bind into the Drop, and it makes an amazing pressure unit. ... Unfortunately he's Legion restricted. Ah, how we wish that we could have a non-Legion restricted clone of this...

Then we have a bear. It has an on-call skill that binds a RG. Eh? It's sorta meh... Okay, I guess we don't have anything else to run.

After the bear, it's the dokuryuu (Poison Dragon). It has an effect that gets +2k whenever a card goes into the bind zone. Eh, couldn't it have been a +3? I mean that means it needs to activate 3 times to shine... Well better than nothing, and works if you Spam stuff.

Vanila.

Grade 1

Shadow Dragon of Demise...
Dreadmaster should always be used at 4. It's the only actual good thing. Then we need to consider the Vanila too. And then, we have Fuuki. I don't like him that much since he doesn't discard, but it's usuable, and preety good overall. Anyway there are no better choices.

PG. Good luck.

Grade 0

I can use this with Glare!
So, firstly, I'll talk about the one and only viable Starter choice in Nubas. This is... Amazing. 10/10 best starter in the world. Forget everything I said about the Grade 3s up there. This effect just made all the RG binding units so much more worth it. The pressure applied with this guy is unreal. It's not even funny. It's just a simple SB1, so you can continously use this again... and again... and again.... and again until your opponent either gets rid of the cards in his hand (If he doesnt, then the Bind zone cards disappear, reducing guardable cards) then finish the game typically. Thanks to Kuroko, this clan just became so much more playable. Withought this we won't even be running Nubas.

The trigger lineup is preety obvious since there are limited choices, but Draws work well with most of the effects up there.

Kuroko!

Grade 4

A.K.A. Nirvana.
There are only 2 Stride options in this clan, but obviously Gedatsurakan is better. It's either PG and stop it, or take it and discard it. It's just another one of that pressure units, and should be run at 4 in every deck. This is the best on-hit Strides ever.

Then Jorurirakan time. Finally! Something that puts bind cards into the Drop! Wow, Amazing! Fantastic! 10/10 amazing just great! Unfortunate CB2 but it's worth it, and it's cheap as hell (Practically everything aside from the PGs in this clan are, but still) and can be run at 4 easilly. This clan's true potential is great and cheap amazing. The next support it gets will turn it into an amazing budget deck.
