Budget Deck: Kagero (Blademaster)

Eternal Flame!!!
Before I say anything, I'll ask a question. What is Kagero most famous of? Retiring? No. It's Restanding. From the very first set of the game, Kagero boasted their very first restanding unit of the game. Then they did it even better with the Apocalypse unit that literally brought doom to the opponent. After that, even now, Kagero boasts their Restanding more than their retiring. But did you notice? Not used cards = cheap. So, the retiring side of Kagero equals?

When G-BT01 was first introduced, Kagero got Dragonic Blademaster. It was a really useful unit... But it lacked support, and it was brought down to the non-meta game...

Or so people thought.

Straido Generation!!! Wait what?
Are those people serious? Blademaster synergy is amazing. Add in a few units like Gyokuryu and Tanaz, and make monster collumns with Pressure units (Like Blademaster itself. The Generation Break 2 gives a pressure critical) and see the look on your opponent's faces. And with Root Flare Dragon, you give +15k to each of the Gyokuryu clones. With all this retiring... I'm telling you, it's just pure amazing, this G-Kagero. I don't know why people say that it's bad. Although thanks to that, Blademaster is cheap as hell (Although this might change next month when G-BT03 comes out).

There are a ton of potentials for these amazing underestimated units.

Grade 4

I am the Root of my flames...
So, firstly the G-zone. First, I'm gonna talk about Root Flare. He's a $12 unit that's honestly just great. all you do is... Flip a persona? That's nothing really much. And wait, so it almost unconditionlly gives a +2. Wow. This is great. When I searched for the price I was prepared for a $20 unit but I'm so glad to be wrong.

Then the other G-units are... tricky? First up we have Mahmud, who honestly isn't too impressive.

After Mahmud, we have Zahm. This is a potential field nuke by 4-5 CBs, a.k.a. +25k to all the clones. Although that many CBs, I'm not willing to pay, but when your opponent has 3 Rear-Guards, it's just fine.

Nehalem's bro.
Then is Mustafa. At first glance this doesn't seem too impressive, but lemme prove you wrong. Firstly it's a highly budget unit that's cheap to get. Secondly it gurantees a retire, triggering off Sadegh, who with Blademaster can retire 3 in one turn. If budget, run 4.

Then this is one expensive as hell unit but it's worth talking about here. SHED, DOTA. This is $30 or so, do don't run this. It's just no. You need 2 of this to actually use the skill, and I'm not putting down a $60 for a bad as hell Restander, even if it's the only finisher option we have.

Grade 3

Blademaster De-gozaru!
First, 4 of Dragonic Blademaster. It's really cheap and just perfect budget boss.  Then for the other options, first is Double Perish Dragon. It's bad as hell but still, what else? What? the Great is a thing? No it isn't, at least not in the Budget game. You do know that it's $15 or so on it's own, and Neoflame by itself is $10. Just forget about Restanding Kagero, and go focus on Retire Kagero.

When G-BT03 comes out, you can replace Twin Headed Dragon with Heroic Sanic Dragon, or even better (Unless you ride it) Soheyl.

What's that? You need to use Restanding Kagero? Oh fine. Run Dragonic Overlord The Яe-birth.
I've had more than one person telling me that Яebirth is horrible. Exept it isn't really. As long as you can get the condition off (Which is the real difficulty), it becomes a consistent 21k attack to the Vanguard twice. Embarrasingly this combo gets ruined by other Kagero decks (Retire-tanks) but it doesn't really matter that much. Consistent 21k attack to the Vanguard 2 times with twin drive is just amazing. His price should have gone down... Wait, $5? Wow. Then run  2-3 or something. It's still goo and an alternative finisher to SHED, DOTA.

Grade 2

So the G2 isn't really tight at all... There too few options.

First option is Tanaz who can help you spam power, next is Jabad who can help hit VGs. Then there's Ihmad who forces out shields like a monster. Berserk Dragon gives you early game options, and Bellicosity unflips.

Grade 1

So, before I say anything, Lemme just say that Kagero has an amazing cheap as hell PG so don't worry about the Sentinels.

Gaia = Earth
Then, going on, we have quite a few options for Grade 1. Firstly we have Gyokuryu. Obviously, 4 or so. Then we also have Energy Flame, Aethonic. This card is an amazing unflipper. Really, it's just great. I'd run 2-4 or so. Then, Heatnail Salamander. This old card is now a great card. Remember me saying that this deck lacks pressure units? Well, this is a perfect pressure adder for you. Boosting Tanaz or something, it becomes really great. I never thought that the day would come when I'd actually recommend this card at 4. Grom? Nah, Aethonic does it better. Then now, I'll write a list of more options for this deck that are self-explinatory.

Monireth, Calamity Tower, Kimnara, Lava Flow Dragon, Garan.

Grade 0

There are 2 options for starter. Ragla and Sadegh. No, no Red Pulse. It's just bad. Bad bad bad. Either way, going on to the triggers, 12 critical? Yeah okay, nothing much synergizes with Draws, but still, Gattling Claw is just too hard to let go of. No, don't run the Seal Dragon draw. It's bad.

Grade 3:
Grade 4:

 Effectiveness: 7/10

Price: $40-50

Competetive: Yes

Final Words: Kagero is now amazingly scary. Blademaster retire spam is waay too strong, and with Gyokuryu it becomes amazing. This deck is definitely ready for competitive play, and can be used for fun in casual plays. It's pretty autopilot and fun to use overall.
