Budget Deck: Oracle Think Tank (Magus)

Simple Geometry!
So I'm finally writing about Oracle Think Tank.

OTTs are probably my favorite non-control deck(Gear Chronicle/Kagero ftw!). Their ability to accumulate huuuuge hand sizes has always appealed to me. But... Oracle Think Tank has had a bit of a hard time in the G-Era. They've gotten pretty little support this season and the little support we've gotten was... pretty mediocre. Outside of some Archetypal support, Oracle Think Tank generally didn't get any good support. They've been relying of Silent Tom for a long time. And Tom is a no-no for budget. So my solution?

Play an older, previously supported deck that doesn't use Tom.

Magus has been around for awhile and even got their own Extra Booster. They got some lovely units from Moonlit Dragonfang and will help to make up for budget. A lot.

The first key unit here is Ring Magus is another budget Grade 3 that we can use alongside Floral Magus and its skill isn't too shabby. On-attack call the top card of your deck and if you call it correctly you add it to your hand and get +3000. The +1 is great, the power boost lets it hit 21k by itself with 7k boosters, and it works on Rearguard as well as Vanguard. It's also a common. Yay for budget.

The second key unit is Globe Magus. This amazing stride lets you look at the top card of your deck whenever you want. During trigger checks, in the middle of skills, whenever. And it's pretty frickin cheap at around $3.

Anyhow, let's continue!
Grade 4
Get... Destroyed...lol...
I know I said OTT got really bad support, but the Strides are pretty damn good at pooling in advantage. All pretty affordable as well, and since the main deck is so cheap you can afford to put a lot more resources in here.

4 Globe Magus is obvious, of course, and lets see what else we got here.

Takemitazuchi is a quality +2 that all Oracle Think Tank players know and love, and is around $7. It's affordable enough, so run it if you can. Kamususanoo is in the same boat. He powers up all your units and gives a nice +1 on-hit. If you have to choose between the two, take Takemitazuchi, but if you can afford both I heavily recommend that you do.

Lord of Guidance, Wakahirume is just awesome. Stack your deck with a guaranteed trigger isn't to be underestimated. The Oracle hurts, but with a $4 price tag I'll definitely take it.

Kirin for budget and on-hit pressure, but the +1 ain't bad.

Ichibiyoshi's +5000 shield is pretty much a given, and Scryew's just perfect for this deck if you can afford it.

Sebreeze is ..."cool" to have...lol....

Grade 3
Fun Fact: Five of These
Makes a Pentagon
4 Ring Magus since it's the perfect common budget boss for Magus.

Outside of that you have three options: Floral, Pentagonal, and Hexagonal.

First, Pentagonal is a sneak peek promo from...two years ago. So no. The crit pressure is nice, but I'd rather not go through the work of obtaining four of these. I guess you could use the SCR... but no.

Hexagonal has a good breakride that gives you a +1 and deck stack, but I'd rather not run breakrides. It's also $5, so if you have them, great! If you don't, don't bother.

Floral Magus is dirt cheap. Not even a buck. Counterblast 1 for a free draw and +5000 to boot is great. Perfect secondary budget boss to go alongside Ring Magus. Or you could think of Ring Magus as the secondary boss. Oh whatever.

Grade 2
Briolette Magus to stack something on top of your deck to enable all your other Magus skills. Also makes funny loops when you have Psychic Birds.

Rhombus Magus and Cuore Magus both help to hit numbers, but which to choose? Cuore is guaranteed and doesn't need to be enabled with the top card being known. Rhombus, on the other hand, is more powerful and can check the top card for you if you don't know what it is. In the end, it's player preference. Or run both.

Stellar Magus is amaaaazing. Easy +1 is so good... but it's $8... Oh well, we can just use Kuroikazuchi instead.
Grade 1
4 Perfect Guards, obviously, and Stride Fodders are entirely unnecessary in this deck.

Cone Magus. My favorite countercharger in the game with an on-call countercharge 2. It's Aethonic, but it doesn't force you to minus. Just great.

Circle Magus for checking the top card of your deck early game to enable early Magus skills. And Octagon Magus is an option, I guess.

Ripis Magus. Do I really have to say anything about this?

Grade 0
4 Semilunar Magus. I sound like a madman, but trust me. Semilunar Magus is an easy, essentially costless +1 and I highly recommend running her at high numbers.

12 Crit 4 Heal. Don't run anything else in Oracle Think Tank. Be sure to include Paisley Magus and Psychic Bird if you can.

Competitive: Can stay toe-to-toe with Gavrail/Nociel, if that's what you're asking

Final Words: This deck is really good at accumulating a large amount of resources and having the offensive capabilities to back it up. Really well balanced and I'm happy with what it resulted in. Oracle Think Tank is a really fun, enjoyable clan that you guys should definitely try out.

Side Notes: Given the amount of time left for summer and the amount of work I've procrastinated on, I doubt I'll be able to write any blogs for the rest of the summer. I don't know about Tachi, though. But don't worry! I'll be posting like a madman once I have free time afterwards. I'm planning on starting a budget Buddyfight blog for all you aspiring Buddyfight players out there as a sub-blog to this one.

Anyhow, see you in the next one!
