... Eh? Where am I?
And hey! I'm back in action! Yay! Break finally started (for like 4 days)! I actually got motivated to get off my lazy ass, stop watching anime 24/7 and do something productive like... writing this blog!
So hey, how are you guys?
>can't sleep even though it's 2:30 AM so is killing time
Yeah, I'm leading an extremely healthy life too. This is great.
Back to the main topic: Seven Seas. Seven Seas is a deck classified as competetive by current meta defenitions, wierdly enough. The first time I saw this support, I didn't think it would get even close to this popular, but it did. I have no idea how, but it got popular despite being Granblue. And it's extremely fun and effective too, and on top of all of these points it's budget!
Life has been so easy for us since the G-era.
Anyways, I'll get to work.
Grade 4
WALLETS. FEAR FOR YOUR LIVES FOR THE GREAT WAIFU HAS ARRIVED. |
... I sometimes wish Bushi didn't go down the waifu route... But then it wouldn't have changed much with just how good this card is.
Try to fit in 2, if impossible... you can work withought it.
After that, you have the one and true Lord of the Seven Seas. G-Nightmist is an awesome card that provides greeaaaaat utility... wait, this thing is $10? But it comes from FC!
... Should I start doubting whether this thing is budget or not now?
Anyways, he's "affordable". Run about 2, or 1 would work.
FINALLY A CHEAP STRIDE THAT WORKS. The ghost himself (... or herself? Ghostie waifu confirmed) is an amazing card that can filter the drop zone withought relying on random milling from the likes of Ruin Shade with it's selective milling. It's also the reason on why Seven Seas have almost no problem decking out. Anyways, key point is that it's great utility that even helps in deck thinning late game. I personally run 2, but you can work with 1.
Bandit Rum is a replacement for Nightrose (terrible replacement, but still), if you have nothing to use. Blueheart serves as a replacement for Nightmist, if you can't afford him. Both of them are preety meh and would avoid if possible, but they're workable.
Grade 3
People believed hard enough that you'd be revived for a third time. |
I guess the deck's meta for a reason... I guess...
On the bright side, Nightmist BR isn't mandatory while nice to have, and the other main Seven Seas boss is dirt cheap, and is great. Notably for the on-ride effect that calls something for free, while that needs control to be pulled off consistently. You can use him (... her?) purely for the Seven Seas name and nothing else and there won't be any problems.
The other Seven Seas "boss" (read: support utility) is dirt cheap too, so there's that.
Hey guys and gals, guess what. Nightmist isn't the only bishi brought back to life bu Bushi. Fangirls rejoice. Rejoiiiice.
Preety sure no one remembered Nightstorm original, but hey. I didn't either so it's fine!
Anyways, Nightstorm 2.0 is a great card, while it lacks the Seven Seas name and therefore is a bad ride, it's a good card that helps in your offensive maneuvers. I'd run him @1 if you're paranoid about the ride (or none at all, that's fine), but if you're a lucky bastard like me that gets the main ride every single game or so (hey, at least I don't sack to victory... *stares at Chrono*), you can run 4. I'd run 2 if I were you though, but since I'm not I go full insanity mode and run 4. Don't copy unless you're me or want new data.
Grade 2
It's been a few years since your release and you got a reprint, and I still don't know your gender. |
Colombard is a greeaaaaat card, even moreso if you can't afford Nightrose-4. It helps in multiattacking and the likes, and fuels the offensiveness of 7Seas.
Raisruler... A horrible translation again in Bushi's part from the original Raceruler, but regardless, it's a great card. Mostly, that +5k helps ridiculously a lot for offense. It helps the unit called hit unboosted and then attack again with Slash Shade. The 8k? Doesn't matter when you make it food for the likes of Slash Shade and Nightcrow.
Ruin Shade? Err, decent option for early milling for Plegeton fuel and 11k hitting, but otherwise meeeeeeeeh.
ALL HAIL NEGROOK. ALL MOURN FOR CORRUPTION DRAGON.
Skeleton Cannoneer? At 1, sure. Otherwise, it's a waste of CB I find.
Grade 1
... Why does your new art have to be so waifu? p_p |
SSB pulled down to $3! Yay!
Run 2. She's the reason Seven Seas can be so aggro while maintaining a ridiculous hand. Fortunately, Ghostie can now tutor it out.
You do have the option of not running any, so there's that.
Aside from that, NIGHTCROW. Nightcrow is amaaaaazing. It's a free Samurai Spirit that can kill off a SSB to revive her later on while turning her into a 7k booster, and etc. Anyways, the key point is that this is an amazing amazing utility.
Dancing Sword.
Rumbling Seas Banshee is a decent card, but Nightcrow almost, almost completely outclasses it. Rumbling has the +2k as it's saving grace... but even that isn't much.
Headstart Zombie? Not bad, not good either when Ghostie Stride is on the house.
Oh hey! A new GB PG! About time!
And it's still $10...
... but hey, that's an improvement from Gust Jinn.
Grade 0
Sorry kid, you're now useless. |
First of all; Peter is a great card that can fuel the soul (For SSB), a +-0 unit and 2 mills that helps Plegeton. However... the uncertain mill that looks redundant and uncertain, and deck thinning when Ghostie Stride is here is... eeeeeh
Nightrunner is not a bad card, but it looks meh with the again, topdeck mill (especially with 4, makes it less spammable). Synergizes well with Blueheart for sure, but otherwise...
Grenarche would be my ideal starter choice, helping the multi-attacks coming, but then again, meh.
Decklist:
NOTE: This is only an example decklist and should only be used as a base. I recommended that you create your own decklist through your own testing. I found this decklist to fit me, but it is up to you to find a decklist that fits you.

Final Words: When Seven Seas first got support, I didn't expect them to be this popular nor this good, which is a nice surprise for me. The deck itself is extremely fun to play and competetive too, and somehow made it to the meta. I wouldn't recommend it highly to begginers though, due to the brain killer thinking required.
Great to see that you're back in action!
ReplyDelete... Well, for now.
DeleteI'm preety sure the most I can afford this break is one more blog post.
... Now then... I'll go clean up the pile of HW I have on the side...
combos?
ReplyDeleteHopefully to see your own version of Seven Seas Rush Grade 1 Rush Deck...
ReplyDeleteI'll probably post about it later this week or something.
DeleteSince the revival collection reprinted the lord of seven seas + banshee, is this deck still any relevant? Wanting to build nightrose but still too costy ;/
ReplyDeleteSeven Seas is still a great deck at the moment and is still meta. They have a solid early and mid game, when compared to Nightrose, and can start going hyper a lot faster. It's just that most Seven Seas lists have defaulted to the 1-Stop variant for competitive. Seven Seas is a strong, budget friendly Granblue deck that's definitely worth building.
